Kanye: I have views on humanity and truth but not politics Latest
Kanye West has been explaining the reasons why he wants to stand for US president.
In September last year he told fans that he had decided to run for the White House in 2020.
Speaking exclusively to Radio 1's Annie Mac he has given more details about his plans and motivation.
But the rapper says he doesn't have views on politics, just "a view on humanity, on people, on the truth".
He tells the DJ that he just wants to bring about positive change in America if he can.
"If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I'm alive I'm going to try to do it."
He speaks about the current political situation in the States and the recent string of police shootings against unarmed black Americans.

"We are numb, we're numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year," Kanye tells Annie.
"We're numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July."
