‘One Dance’ the Most Streamed Song in the US

The South African house Dj, Maphorisa made a song early this year with the Canadian Hip-Hop recording star, Aubrey Graham better known as Drake. The song is called One Dance and it is an official single form the album ‘Views From The Six’ which made a huge history of being the first album to reach One (1) Billion streams on iTunes/ Apple music.
It was announced early October that the single #OneDance is the most streamed track. The United States’ streaming serving called Spotify announced the milestone a couple of weeks ago, claiming that the song had been streamed for more than 880 million times since it was release.

This clearly proves that the single #OneDance is one of the best and biggest songs to be released in 2016. The song was co-produced by the South African house Dj Maphorisa, and it is a huge surprise that it actually became the biggest song in United States of America. According to CNET, Mr OVO, Drake and his team OVO Sound might have made an amount of approximately R6.7 million from the streams alone.
According to Sowetan Live, this banger song produced by Maphorisa also gave Drake his first Billboard Hot 100 number one, straight at the top. The song was released on the 5th of April 2016 under OVO Sound, Cash Money Records and Young Money Records, it was written by Drake himself and Paul Jefferies. The song featured the Nigerian Afrobeat artist Wizkid and the British singer Kyla. According to Wikipedia, the song One Dance reached the number one spot in Australia, Canada, France, USA and many other countries.
Dj Maphorisa said he’s proud to work with Drake and he hopes to work with even in the future. “With the hit we made, I’m hoping there’s a next time so we make magic again”, Maphorisa stated on His Twitter account @djmaphorisasa. The music video for the hit was released as part of Drake short film promoting #Views called Please Forgive Me which was directed by Anthony Mandler, it was released on September 26, 2016 exclusively on Apple Music. The music video was short in South Africa which included the South African Dancers Material Culture and some of top South African Actors.
After hearing that Maphorisa worked on the song, a lot of South Africans took it to twitter to congratulate the producer and to also celebrate him for such an accomplishment of working with such a big artist that every artist wants to work with.
This had the its greatest success in the United Kingdom, where it topped the UK singles Chart for 15 consecutive weeks, making it the joint-second longest consecutive number one in the UK. The song #OneDance was named the Song of the Summer by Billboard on the 27th of September 2016. This song has really been breaking records after records, doing big things in its country and globally.
