Reports emerged that music star and record label owner Arthur Mafokate and his girlfriend Cici had a physical altercation that led Cici pressing charges against Arthur.
it was reported that Kwaito star and business man Arthur Mafokate allegedly physically attacked his girlfriend, singer Cici. The altercation between the two apparently happened in the house they shared together and Cici opened a case against Arthur.Arthur was arrested and police confirmed he spent the night in cells and was released on R 500 bail.
Today Mens Forum an NGO has called upon Arthur to apologise for the incident.
Gauteng Mens Forum spokesperson, Bongani Ngomane says, “You need men to stand up and say this is wrong, it must stop, that will send a message that if you’ve got any problems in any situation violence is not a solution. And if a man like Arthur stands up and says so and apologises, it will go a long way in shaping the nature of relationships between men and women in the country.”In the statement, Cici is accusing Arthur of dragging her across the street with his car.
According to Cici, the drama began last week Thursday when Arthur received a phone call from an anonymous woman and he insisted on speaking to her outside.
When Cici became suspicious that he might be speaking to his nyatsi, she confronted him and things turned sour quickly.
She also claimed that Arthur refused to tell her who he was speaking to and why they had to speak in private.
Arthur then got into his car to run away from the drama, because, according to the statement, he didn’t want to be spoken to in such a manner in front of “children”.
Cici followed him and tried to open the car door, but Arthur drove off while she was holding onto the handle.
The Sunday World has also revealed that after Arthur was arrested, he then opened a counter case.
Spokesman Lungelo Dlamini confirmed to the publication that Arthur spent the night in jail in Midrand for assaulting his girlfriend.
Arther’s counter claims have been that Cici assaulted him with tables and chairs during the altercation.
The publication is also reporting that Arthur denied intentionally dragging Cici with his car, saying he was not aware that she was holding onto the door. It also revealed that Cici was admitted to Waterfall Hospital in Midrand, where she continues to nurse her injuries.
Arthur has appeared in the Midrand Magistrate's Court on Friday for common assault and was released on R500 bail.
Lately, there has been a lot of abuse in the country toward women and children. The country has witnessed a lot of female deaths and police have been urging people to report any for of abuse.
For the first time after the incident Cici took to her instagram to thank people who wished her well and also showed the progress of the recent Pelvic replacement operation she underwent recently.
