Justin Timberlake's "Man Of The Woods" First Week Sales Projections
Timberlake is expected to make a big debut on the charts, but it's hard to predict what kind of boost he'll get from the Super Bowl.
The first-week sales projections are in for Justin Timberlake 's fifth studio album Man Of The Woods . According to Hits Daily Double, the album is expected to move between 300,000 to 350,000 equivalent album units, based on one day of sales, though the report suggests Timberlake's Super Bowl Halftime Show could push him over the 400,000 mark.
The sales info at this time is still somewhat limited, and better estimates will be available later in the week based on the physical and Target exclusive release of the project.
In 2013, Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience scored the highest sales week of the year with 968,000. At the time, this was the largest sales week by a male artist since Lil Wayne 's Tha Carter III in 2008. 20/20 makes for the 19th-largest sales for an album within a one week period since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.
Following Bruno Mars' performance at the 2014 Super Bowl Halftime show, his album Unorthodox Jukebox (released in 2012) experienced a 164% gain in sales. We'll have to wait and see if the JT's performance will give his album a similar boost, though with 5 albums to his name versus Bruno's two (at the time of his performance), he may see his Super Bowl sales spread over his back catalog.
On Saturday morning, it was reported that Justin Timberlake's Halftime Show would feature a hologram version of the late Prince. Prince himself headlined the halftime show 11 years ago in Miami. The 2018 Super Bowl is set to take place in his hometown of Minneapolis. The 2018 Super Bowl will air at 6:30 EST on Sunday, February 4th.
